The benefits of Vine Guards or ‘wraps’ cannot be overstated. Vine guards are placed over the freshly planted vines giving the vine protection from the wind, heat, herbicide and some plant eating animals while the young vine is being established.

Plant bands are manufactured from high internal-sized, bleached board. This provides exceptional strength when wet, yet is still 96% biodegradable. A light poly-coated moisture barrier maintains plant separation in the greenhouse. The bands are scored for folding and heat sealed during fabrication. No damaging glues or other potentially toxic chemicals reach the soil or your plants. The square sleeve directs roots downward at the corners, virtually eliminating any chance of plants becoming root bound as may occur with round containers. Roots are air pruned as they reach the bottom of the tray, ensuring rapid root proliferation upon transplanting.

Efficient Use of Labour and Space

Plant bands store flat and open into a square shape, providing the most efficient use of greenhouse space and potting medium. Individual containers make it easy to sort by plant canopy development, move failed starts and split trays for distribution. Transplanting becomes more efficient as employees move the plants, potting medium and band directly to the field, minimising the possibility of transplant shock or root ball damage.

Imported from Germany these strips of biodegradable rubber are ideal for securing either "V" or Omega Grafts or T-Buds.The elasticity of the rubbers holds the graft or bud firm while allowing the callus, scion and stock to grow without cincturing.The rubbers are not affected by the use of grafting wax on the plant if this is undertaken to minimise dehydration at the time of planting into a field nursery or into plant bands for hot house growing.Being made of a biodegradable material the rubbers do not require removal after the graft or bud has taken but will fall off after about 4-6 months.
