Chalmers Nurseries Pty Ltd are proud to offer to the Australian Viticulture Industry a selection of varieties and clones from the Vivai Cooperativi Rauscedo (VCR) and Gruppo Matura in Italy, and other varieties personally selected by company principal, Bruce Chalmers.

All the varieties and clones are from vines produced after years of selected propagation with both Companies. These clones have been recommended for their varietal characteristics, colour and
low yield. VCR have been breeding and selecting clones of Italian grapevine cultivars for over 50 years and are one of the most experienced clonal selection agencies in Italy. They are also the largest viticultural nursery in the world exporting vines to many different countries.

The distribution in Australia of these VCR cultivars and clones, and vines selected by Dr. Alberto Antonini of Matura will represent the culmination of approximately 8 years work between VCR,
Matura and Chalmers Nurseries to determine which varieties and which clones to import. Extensive discussions have taken place with viticulturalists and wine makers in Australia, as well as in Italy.

Binjara Vine Nursery Pty Ltd is pleased to be the sole propagator of the Chalmers Nurseries selection of Italian varieties and clones. We are proud to continue on with this passionate project for Bruce and Jenni Chalmers and offer alternative varieties to the Australian Viticulture Industry.
